For the Writer's Journey collectible in Alan Wake 2, see Visions (collectible).

Visions are a series of three unlisted videos on the Remedy Entertainment YouTube channel that can viewed by scanning the three QR Codes found in Alan Wake Remastered, released in 2021. They serve as teasers for Alan Wake 2, released in 2023. Each video features a looping scene of Alan Wake using a typewriter in a dark room (which is reused from Alan's Hotlines calls in the AWE DLC for Control), giving a monologue about his writing while instrumental music plays in the background.

List of Visions[]

Notes[]

  • The three Visions foreshadow elements from the story of Alan Wake 2.
    • Vision 01 foreshadows the plot of Initiation, the auto-fictional Alex Casey-style detective novel Alan writes, using Echoes of Casey to guide himself through the Dark Place, which has taken the form of a distorted, "dark" version of New York City based on Wake's own experiences and writings.
    • Vision 02 foreshadows Alan's powers of insight and precognition, which he, unaware of their true nature, had used as inspiration for his writings, including his Alex Casey novels, which were (at least partially) based on the life of FBI agent Alex Casey.
    • Vision 03 directly foreshadows the plot of Prologue: The Cult, the opening episode of Alan Wake 2, in which a naked, bloated Robert Nightingale emerges from Cauldron Lake, seeming to be confused and scared, before fleeing into the woods and being killed by the Cult of the Tree.
