While I find the references fascinating, I just want to point out that in other wikis, outside info such as this are usually posted in trivia portions of their respective pages. Brainwasher5 06:28, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

At The Vault (Fallout wiki) we have a page with a list of references as well. E.g. Cultural references in Fallout 3. Ausir(talk) 08:54, May 22, 2010 (UTC)

yeah but is that true for the majority of the wikis though Brainwasher5 23:38, May 31, 2010 (UTC)?

My English ist not so good so i dont want to write it into the wiki...but a Movie Reference could also be "In the Mouth of Madness" where Sutter Cane a Writer...wirtes the apokalypse and it comes true...also it looks like Sutter Cane has written the Main Char John Trent into the Story.

Not everyone has seen Twin Peaks; try to put SPOILERS on the references and encourage fans of this series to watch it. Point to episode guides that let them skip the superfluous crap episodes in the latter half of S2. Either way, ruining Twin Peaks for folks who're fans of this series is really ... unfortunate.

Also the LOST references seem superfluous. LOST played off of Twin Peaks and several other series that had already set precedent. While there are some that are worth agreeing with, referencing back to material that appeared during same time as TP and other material is worth looking through. Personally, I don't see nearly as much influence from Lost as I see from Stephen King novels, Silent Hill games, Twin Peaks and other, more retro media that Lost itself decided to pillage throughout its narrative.

It's also worth mentioning whether or not references are confirmed or unconfirmed, as some of it is purely speculative.

Maybe if this section were split into two groups: references and similarities?

L4D2 reference invalid?[]

Hi, I was just thinking - is the Left for Dead 2 reference a valid one? Because between releases of Alan Wake and Left for Dead 2 is only about 6 months and that may be quite a short time to rewrite the script and the game to include such a scene on a rock stage - it may be just a coincidence.
