Mountain Manor is a location found in Alan Wake. It appears near the end of Episode 3: Ransom.

Background[]

The manor was built in 1910 by Bartholomew Weaver, though the cost of building seemingly bankrupted him. A restoration project was started in 1970 but came to a halt due to a lack of funds and has since lain dormant. At one point the ruins made a brief appearance in a Night Springs episode and is also a popular ghost hunting location.

One ghost hunting expedition funded by the Finnish paranormal reality show, Aavemainen Tutkiminen (“Ghostly Investgations"), was plagued with unexplained difficulties that culminated with its co-host Stig Baasvik being injured after falling from the second floor balcony. Stig later claimed he was pushed by a dark, cloudy force and that similar events had been captured on film, however the TV company refused to allow any of the footage to be seen.

Events of Alan Wake[]

Alan arrives at the manor in Episode 3: Ransom as a means to reach Mirror Peak Lookout to meet the kidnapper of Alice. Upon entering the manor, he can see various written texts in the basement referring to Thomas Zane. As he reaches the top floor, he accidentally falls through to the floor below, where he is ambushed by various Taken, but manages to escape.
