Loki Darkens was a former member of the rock band Old Gods of Asgard. He was an excellent guitarist, but his behavior was a constant source of friction in the band. Eventually, he went missing and was never seen again.
Biography[]
It is unknown when the Anderson brothers met Loki Darkens. He was an excellent and inspired guitarist. However, he was also a constant source of friction in the band, as he would blow off practise sessions and had a reputation for uncaring and even cruel behavior, very true to the jötunn and god for which he was named. Moreover, he was undependanble. Loki would often blow off practise or disappear without letting the others know of his whereabouts, and there were many public arguments between him and the three other members about money. At one time it was rumored that he was on the verge of getting fired from the band because the other Old Gods were growing waery of his behavior, but he was still a considerable presence on the first of the band's records, and many fans enjoyed the unpredictable quirks he brought to the band's sound.[1]
According to one fan's comment on Old Gods of Asgard's official website, Loki was known for stealing money and always trying to run the band even though it was Odin who was the leader, and he said that he did not fit in with the rest of the band's members. They also said that they know a man who went to an Old Gods concert in Los Angeles in 1971 at which Loki supposedly messed up the whole gig when he began throwing things, including beer bottles, into the audience and hurt some people in it pretty bad. According to the fan, it was supposed to have almost been a riot.[1]
Loki went missing after the release of their second album, "Follow Me Underground", in 1972. He disappeared under unclear circumstances shortly after its release and his current whereabouts are still unknown.[1]
