Hal contacted Jake Fischer several times, talking about Libby, Jake's presumed wife or girlfriend and reminding him to get Emil Hartman's book The Creator's Dilemma signed for Riley.

Hal does not make a direct appearance in Bright Fallsminiseries. Only his voice is heard as he converses with Jake over the phone.

Trivia

Ellen Adams was talking to someone on the phone in the last episode, Clearcut. If you listen carefully, you can hear "So, he has no idea, Hello?, Are you there?". It sounds pretty similar to Hal's voice. So, possibly, there's something bigger going on between Ellen, Hal and Jake and maybe even the whole town of Bright Falls.
