You're a dying breed. Jake, lighten up; we need the interview. You know Riley loves the book.
― Hal to Jake Fischer

Hal is a minor character that is only heard in the Bright Falls minseries. He is a coworker of Jake Fischer.

Biography[]

During Jake Fischer's trip to Bright Falls, Washington to interview Dr. Emil Hartman about his book The Creator's Dilemma, Hal called Fischer to emphasize the importance of said interview since Riley (presumably their boss) is a fan of the book and to remind him to get a signed copy of the book. He also told him that Libby had called again and that he was running out of excuses for her. Hal then asked Fischer if he had been home recently, but the latter dismissed the question and ended the call after Hal told him that Libby did not know he was going to Bright Falls.[1]

The following day, Fischer tried to call Hal to tell him about the strange blackout he experienced during the interview, but only got an automated voicemail. He proceeded to leave him a message explaining what happened, but stopped after discovering that he had actually taken notes.[2] A few days later, Hal called Fischer to ask him how he was doing, to which he - lying - told him that everything was fine. Hal then asked him if he was able to get a signed copy of Dr. Hartman's book.[3]
