The Grenadier is a new type of Taken introduced in Alan Wake's American Nightmare. They have low health and a darkness shield even weaker than that of Flankers, but they have a long-ranged attack in the form of a thrown grenade. Aesthetically, the grenade resembles a flashbang, but its explosion is replaced by a small blast of darkness. The grenades can also damage other Taken if they get in the way, regardless of their shield.
